Catholic Pastoral Area for Mid Hampshire

About 3 Rivers

We are a Roman Catholic Worshiping Community* of over 1500 Catholics celebrating their faith in 6 churches in the centre of Hampshire and part of the diocese of Portsmouth.

The '3 Rivers' that run through our pastoral area are symbolic of the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Our Coordinating Pastor is Father Michael Dennehy, who works together to lead and serve the community, with Father George Lyons, Father John Buckley, Deacons Bob Birtles and Paul Owen.

3 River Pastoral Plan

Our Bishop Crispian says, “Together we have arrived at the stage when we can name the pastoral priorities for the diocese and accept responsibility for them.”

For 3 Rivers, the model below highlights the 8 priorities which are the ‘headlines’ of the Diocesan Pastoral Plan, ‘Go Out and Bear Fruit’. This is what we will focus on for the next few years as we play our part in the Diocese of Portsmouth.

For more information, please contact our Pastoral Area Leadership Team has been established to plan and implement the development and growth of the 3 Rivers Pastoral Area - the current members are:

  • Bishops Waltham - Father John Buckley, Charles Forrest
  • Eastleigh, Fair Oak & Chandlers Ford - Father Michael Dennehy
  • North Baddesley & Romsey - Father George Lyons
