PLEASE PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE OF KENYA!WE HAVE RECEIVED REQUESTS TO PRAY FOR BENN and HELEN - see below:-From: Bob We have heard some news from Kware. Helen has been able to get back to Kenya, but Benn is still stuck in Uganda. The clinic can only open for very short periods during the day for fear of raids and looting. The schools are still closed. From: Bob Latest info from Kware..... God bless, Bob -----Original Message----- Please forward to any you think may be concerned for the welfare of The Mugisha's and the people of Kware. Benn, Helen and the family spent Christmas in Uganda and are all safely there at the moment unable to return to Kenya. The clinic is closed and the situation in Kenya is very serious. Shops are closed, the food supply is closing down and there are killings and riots. Hellens sister, Tony their eldest adopted son are at the house in Nairobi with the house guard and have been told to stay inside. Kenya supplies fuel and goods to Uganda so the situation
transport wise is very serious. Even if the borders were open the
cost of fuel is already rocketing so returning by vehicle is
difficult and costly. Thank God they are safe and well. Pray for peace and stability to return to Kenya. Pray for protection over those in Nairobi. Pray for Benn to be able to return as soon as possible and of course safety. I will keep you informed of any other information. God bless Karen Our Friends in Kenya and Uganda - 2007There are some 500,000 people living in the Kware Slums in the South Eastern limits of Nairobi, Kenya. 75% of their population are children. They are without the simple luxuries we all take for granted, such as clean running water, regular meals, education and health care. The sight of children playing in streets running with sewage is a sight never forgotten. St Thomas Handshake to Kware is a Registered Charity in the U.K. In Kenya, the project is classified as a Self Help Project titled 'St Thomas' handshake to the Kware Slums'. Click here for their web site. The parishioners of Holy Cross, St Swithun Wells and St Edward decided to raise money for this project. Parishioner, Steven Carter, recently cycled over 700 miles and raised thousands of pounds - click here to see the web site about his epic journey Father Michael visited Kware in July and was made most welcome - here are some pictures from his visit:-
