Catch Me                  [click here for the music]

Words: Leo Patrick -  Music: Tim Cain  - Arrangement by David Vane

Catch me, when I cry
Is my lot so much, my heart to try?
When you went to Calvary to die
How selfish am I?
How selfish am I?

Catch me, when I fall
When I fall away, away from you
To slow my hearts anxious beat
I will need you
Then I will need you

Catch me when I cry
Catch me when I fall away from you [echo and whisper] catch me
Catch me when I cry or stray
Catch me when I se-e others cry [echo and whisper] please catch me
Then I will need you
Then I will need you

Catch me, when others cry
and instruct me how to empathise
My own tears may come all too soon
Then I will need you
As they need you too

Catch me, when I stray
From behaving in a righteous way
Tell me what to do and what to say
Teach me the way
Please show me the way

Catch me when I cry
Catch me when I fall away from you [echo and whisper] catch me
Catch me when I cry or stray
Catch me when I se-e others cry [echo and whisper] please catch me
For I’m not worthy
Not worthy of you

Catch me, if I celebrate
and forget those with a lesser fate
Their prayers and faith defend them
They so need you
My prayers they need too.

Catch me, when I forget
That the gifts I have,
have come from you
And remind me when disaster strikes
To call on you
That your love is true

Catch me when I cry
Catch me when I fall away from you [echo and whisper] catch me
Catch me when I celebrate
Or forget your gifts and love for me [echo and whisper] please catch me
For I’m not worthy
But so long for you

Catch me [echo and whisper] catch me

Catch me [echo and whisper] catch me

Catch me [echo and whisper] catch me

Catch me [echo and whisper] catch me

The inspiration for the words came to Leo during a ‘moment’ just before communion during the appellant prayer “Lord I am not worth to receive you but only say the words and I shall be healed” during mass in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Romsey, 6th August 2006 – the stimulus also came Father George’s sermon earlier in that mass.
