Young people from 3 Rivers will took a pilgrimage to Lourdes as part of World
Youth Week with links to Sydney's events

SAYIT World Youth Week Pilgrimage to Lourdes
On Wednesday, 14 young pilgrims from Southampton, 10 from 3 Rivers, 5 from
Hampshire Downs and 4 from the North of the Diocese set of for Lourdes on what
promises to be a Pilgrimage of a lifetime.
Here is just about the whole group from Portsmouth
Diocese:
Matthew McFadden an experienced Pilgrimage leader and Youth
Involvement Coordinator for the Southampton Area Youth Involvement
Trust (SAYIT), will be taking our young people to Lourdes.
The Pilgrimage has a 2 fold aim to let young people experience
Lourdes(on this Jubilee Year, 150 years since the apparitions) and
celebrate World Youth Week with other young people from other areas
and countries.
Our Spiritual Leader is Fr. PJ Smith from the City Centre parish
in Southampton, he has been to Lourdes many times and is a regular
attendee of the HCPT pilgrimage at Easter.
We have a preparation day
on Saturday 5th July at Wisdom House in Romsey, giving the young
pilgrims an opportunity to reflect and learn more about Lourdes. Fr
Michael is coming along to tell us about his Pilgrimage i.e. his
cycle to Lourdes. Canon John O Shea will celebrate Mass.

So we are just one week from our pilgrimage, the loose
ends are being tied up and then its Au Revoir as we make our way to
Lourdes. The itinerary for travelling is as follows
Wednesday 16th July
1. Depart St. Edmunds Church, Southampton@8.45am
2. Depart St. Edward the Confessor Church, Chandlers Ford@9am
3. Depart Tesco Car Park(off M3, J9), Winchester@9.15am
4. Arrive Gatwick Airport at 11.30am
5. Depart British Airways Flight BA7953 to Toulouse at 1.30pm
6. Arrive Toulouse at 4.15pm
7. Arrive Lourdes at 6.45
8. The itinerary on the programme kicks in
Monday 21st July
9. Depart Lourdes @ 1pm
10. Arrive Toulouse @ 3pm
11. Depart Toulouse @5pm on BA Flight BA7954 to Gatwick
12. Arrive Gatwick @5.45
13. Arrive Winchester @ 7.30
14. Arrive Chandlers Ford @7.45
15. Arrive Southampton @8pm
