Father PatMessage from Father Pat for the Launch of our new website.

It is with great joy and hope that we launch the new website for the Parish of Christ The King fittingly on the solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Since I arrived here in September 2010 as Priest of Christ The King, I have been truly blessed to be working in such a friendly and diverse parish.

The launching of Our New Website enables our parish to reach out and keep in touch with those who have left our parish but through website communication can now still keep in touch. Our new Website will hopefully provide inspiration, encouragement and opportunities for worship to many especially our Catholic brothers and sisters confined to their homes or to institutions. The Church recognises the potential of the internet. The Late Pope John Paul 11 said “I dare to summon the whole church bravely to cross this new threshold, to put out into the deep of the net” and “using its potential to proclaim the Gospel Message.”

To all the wonderful parishioners of Christ The King and in different parts of the world, in this year of Faith as we launch our new website, may the Lord bless, direct and guide you now and for evermore.

Fr. Pat Madden.

Blessed Pedro Calungsod

We celebrate with our Philipino parishioners the cannonisation of Blessed Pedro Calungsod by Pope Benedict XVI at Saint Peter’s Basilica on October 21, 2012.

Blessed Pedro Calungsod (c. 1654 – April 2, 1672) was a young Roman Catholic Filipino sacristan and missionary catechist, who along with Spanish Jesuit missionary Blessed Diego Luis de San Vitores, suffered religious persecution and martyrdom on Guam for their missionary work in 1672. Calungsod was beatified on March 5, 2000 by Blessed Pope John Paul II. On February 18, 2012,

Calling all young people 12 years and over!

There is an introductory session for all confirmation candidates and their parents is on Thursday 10th January 7 - 8.30pm. The session will explain all that is expected of parents and confirmandi and give opportunity to answer any questions and queries people may have. We hope to start the Confirmation program in the new year.
